Donald Trump’s Greetings On Diwali: Religious Liberty In US

Delhi: Donald Trump celebrated this Diwali with their Indian Americans staff member in the Oval Office. Trump greeted especially for all the Indians living in America.

On Friday Donald Trump said that the observance of the festival of lights throughout America is an important reminder of the significance of the country’s core tenets – religious liberty and sent the greetings to Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, and Jains.

A day earlier with the small group of Indian Americans President Donald Trump celebrated Diwali in the Oval office. Trump said, “The observance of Diwali throughout America is an important reminder of the significance of one of our Nation’s core tenets – religious liberty.” However, that event was closed for Press.

He said, “My Administration will continue to defend the rights enshrined in our Constitution that enable people of all faiths to worship according to their beliefs and conscience.”

As Diwali commences, Melania and I wish those observing the Festival of Lights a blessed and happy celebration,” he added.

For many Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and Buddhists in the US and around the world, the duration of Diwali is an opportunity to celebrate the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance and good over evil, he stated

He said, “Throughout this holy time, members of these faiths engage in prayer, light diyas and lanterns, and partake in traditional feasts and other festivities with friends and family.”

Diwali is being celebrated in India on 27th October 2019.
