Scope developing a friendly bridge between India and Pakistan to eradicate possibilities of disaster

Special Correspondent: (New Delhi): In recent months, relationship and ties between India and Pakistan have dramatically degraded due to which the situation is worse as during the events of the Kargil War (1991), and following events of the Agra Summit, attack on Indian Parliament and Operation Parakaram.

Concerning this context, there is an urgent necessity of developing and proposing practices for resolving hostility issues related to downgrading diplomatic missions and abridged transportation. There have been no meetings related to diplomatic talks between leaders of India and Pakistan since the year 2015 for improving the relationships between both the countries promptly.

In the year 2018, Pakistan called off a gesture of diplomacy initiative between the National Security Advisors of both the countries. Due to this reason or other political condition, India canceled a planned meeting between the Foreign Minister of both the countries that were to be held in New York.

With recent events associated with the Pulwama Terrorist Attack, India attacked varied terrorists based in Pakistan in February, earlier this year. As a reaction to this, Pakistan sent fighter jets to the border which increased the problem further as an airspace ban and full air alert has been raised by Pakistan.

However, recently attention has been laid on to the diplomacy over the Kartapur corridor as Imran Khan, the prime minister of Pakistan offered to open the passage by conveying such msg to the Qamar Javed Bajwa, which is Pakistan Army, Chief General. This offer was accepted by Narendra Modi, the prime minister of India, creating rare but fruitful coordination between both the countries.

Talks over this topic have continued to be carried out, despite all the difficulties created to the events as mentioned earlier, which is truly remarkable. Three rounds of technical meetings have been conducted so far for completion of the infrastructural needs before this year’s November.

The core reason for this initiative is to incept travel to Gurudwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur (Pakistan) from Dera Baba Nanak Town (India) before the 550th birth of Guru Nanak. It has been stated that Guru Nanak spent his last few years in Kartarpur and took the route that has been developed.

Many of the Sikhism followers use to use this route before partition that created the border on the same. The Kartarpar shrine has been one of the prime pilgrims for Sikhism followers; thus, opening up this route cannot increase pilgrim visit, but also improve between India and Pakistan.
