11 drawn due to boats capsize during Ganesh Visarjan in Bhopal
Special Correspondent (Bhopal): The religious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi ended up with Ganesh Visarjan. Elven people are drawn away in water due to heavy rain in Bhopal. Search operation underway at the site Khatlapura Ghat.
Collector Tarun Kumar Pithode said that two boats were arranged to rescue them on Friday at Lower Lake of Bhopal. Boats can rescue only two people. Eleven people came at the lake to capsize Ganesh Idols.
“First, one of the boats capsized near the Khatlapura Ghat, from where idols are immersed. Then, the other one capsized too, as those in it may have tried to rescue them,” he added.
Six people, who are rescued, are in stable condition. The bodies of the decedents were taken to the Hamidia Hospital in the city for post mortem, Mr. Pithode said.

In the meantime, State Law and Legal Affairs Minister P.C. Sharma said, “The incident is unfortunate. An investigation will be done into it.”
Mr.Pithode gave Rs. 50,000 as immediate relief and declared a compensation of Rs. 4 lakh for family of deceased.
